Moduley is operated as a sole trader in Australia. While businesses below the $3 million annual turnover threshold are generally exempt from the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth), this Policy has been drafted in line with the Australian Privacy Principles as a matter of best practice.

Automatically collected information

Moduley does not currently use any analytics, tracking, or advertising tools. If a privacy-respecting analytics tool is introduced in future, this Policy will be updated first. Moduley does not sell personal information to advertisers.

Payment information

Moduley is currently free to use and does not collect or process any payment information. If paid plans are introduced in future, payment card details will be handled exclusively by a third-party payment provider (for example, Stripe) — Moduley will not store your full card details, and this Policy will be updated before any charge applies.

Your study data (grades, notes, assessment content, and so on) is not used for any purpose beyond providing the service to you.

Cookies and local storage

Moduley uses essential cookies and local browser storage to keep you signed in and to remember your preferences (for example, dashboard layout). Third-party advertising cookies are not used.

Sharing and disclosure

Moduley does not sell personal information. Limited information is shared with trusted service providers who assist in operating Moduley, each bound by confidentiality and data-protection obligations:

These providers act solely as data processors on Moduley's behalf and are not permitted to use your information for their own purposes. This list will be updated if additional providers are introduced (for example, a payment processor if paid plans launch). Information may also be disclosed where required by law, or to protect the rights, safety, or property of Moduley or its users.

Overseas storage

Some service providers, including Supabase and Netlify, may store or process data on servers located outside Australia, including in the United States. By using Moduley, you consent to this transfer. Providers are selected on the basis of strong security and privacy standards.

Data security

Your data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS) and at rest. Database-level security rules (Row Level Security) ensure that your study data is accessible only to your own account — not to other users, and not casually accessible to us.

No system can be guaranteed to be completely secure; however, reasonable steps are taken to protect your information.

Data retention and deletion

Personal information is retained for as long as your account remains active. You can permanently delete all of your study data yourself at any time from within Moduley (Settings → Delete account) — this takes effect immediately. Your login itself remains after this, in case you wish to sign back in; if you would also like your login fully removed, email hello@moduley.app.

Your rights

You may access, correct, or request deletion of your personal information at any time by contacting us at hello@moduley.app. You may also request a copy of the information we hold about you.

Changes to this policy

This Privacy Policy may be updated from time to time. Material changes will be notified to you (for example, by email or an in-app notice). Continued use of Moduley after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Policy.
